You will need:
- Somewhere to run without having to stop for cars
- A watch with a second hand or digital watch
Follow this with a 400m full out sprint. After 400m stop and immediately find your heart rate.
Get your heart rate for 20 seconds (for example: 60)
Multiply this number by three (in this example 180)
Add five.
Congratulations you know have your approximate maximum heart rate.
